Close thread.

The Cincinnati garage rock and post punk scene has had a brilliant year and Feel It Records have been right there in the thick of it. Great albums from The Drin, Choncy, Corker, Beef and SPLLIT, among others.

Agriculture and Ragana are two of my favourites this year, so a strong shout.

Sofia Kourtesis, Nabihah Iqbal and Young Fathers are all Ninja Tune, so they’ve got to be up there. Throw in the BC, NR live record, too.

Awesome label. International Anthem tied. But AD have had a phenomenal year.

A shout out for Glitterbeat Records in Hamburg too. The Altin Gun, Brìghde Chaimbeul and Faizal Mostrixx albums earlier in the year, then a couple of great ones in the last couple of weeks with Lenhart Tapes and Lucidvox.

Big up International Anthem and Glitterbeat.

Also would like to give a shout to Balmat, a nifty little Barcelona ambient label with a pleasing aesthetic and four strong albums this year.

Backwoodz Studioz

Billy Woods, Armand Hammer and Blockhead all with great releases this year

That’s a good list of records - I’d add the Actress and Barry Can’t Swim releases too.

The Armand Hammer album was actually on Fat Possum, not Backwoodz. But that aside, fully agree it has been a great year for Backwoodz because the albums from Fielded, Fatboi Sharif and SKECH185 were also really good.

Forgot about Balmat. They’ve had a great year. That Minor Science album is one of the best things I’ve heard in ages.

This might be my fave song of the year. What a great year they’ve had.
