A true legend of broadcasting
used to have a Richard and Judy blog when I was 13
Richard Madeley >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Bradley Walsh
Was worth watching that Diana documentary at the weekend just for the clip of Madeley very aggressively agreeing with a caller on This Morning that The Queen should come back to London and make a statement about it all.
“SHE MUST. SHE MUST!!”
pure pmsl at the QUICKSAND bit
Remember seeing a documentary a few years back where they sent Richard Madeley to meet loads of squatters. It was full of brilliantly Partridgesque moments such as Madeley visiting a squat and then getting into a BMW and driving back to his expensive hotel. Think he went dumpster-diving at one point as well
A couple of years ago, as a designer/typesetter, I worked on one of his novels. And it was surprisingly not bad. It was no great work of art, obviously. But it wasn’t terribly trashy or badly written. (Of course, I don’t know how much work his editor did before the manuscript came to me.)
So many classics here.
Not had this for about 6 months; never gets old though:
I believe you can find 40 quotes from the aforementioned Richard Madeley at this very website:
My Mum who is irritated by Madeley beyond belief says that she read the book he wrote about his father and grandfather and said it was one of the best books she’s ever read and was so surprised by this she went back and read it again. So there you go.
Sorry @japes old boy, big fan of your work and glad to call you a forum acquaintance, but I feel I should point out that “myself” is one word and I would ask that you please consider this when using acronyms like this in future.
This one always does me for some reason:
9.(To Judy) Do you remember that soup I made last week? Absolutely horrible. Had to throw it in the garden”
