As in they are shit, yeah

If it’s pointed out to me I’m happy to be quiet for two minutes.

Remembering the dead of the world wars is fair enough.

The state of your polls, man.

I’m not wearing a poppy; I have done in the past (out of gratitude for my grandparents); if people want to wear them then go ahead; if people don’t want to wear one then go ahead; I couldn’t rule out the possibility of wearing one in the future. I’ve never voted Tory and never intend to do so.

If there were still people alive from the last time there was conscription I’d wear one. But I think they’re all mostly dead now. Willing to be corrected on this.

I’d also consider wearing one if people now joined the armed forces swearing only to fight in just wars and not to just do whatever they’re told (including shooting their own countrymen in times of martial law). Until that’s the case they can whistle.

Do you know an old lady with poppies and wooden knives?

  • Sounds absolutely terrifying - leave me out of this

Will never wear one as it represents armed forces that fought in my country and killed thousands or our citizens. I’ll remember the WWI dead (my relatives on both sides of the family) in my own way.

That’s probably a common enough opinion in Ireland though!

what time is your unicorn picking you up from work, maaaaan?

Apparently conscription finished in 1960. So the Korean War would be the last time conscripts were sent out to fight?

That finished in 1953. So I guess people as young as 81 could still be injured from a war they had no choice of being involved in. I’m willing to give them a few quid if they’re pointed out to me, I suppose.

a considered, and well made point, but on the other hand

16 minutes, birdy. She’s a lovely beast.

So it’s not just wars they are fighting in now? What else, street fights, bar brawls, that sort of shit?

You’ve got the guns but we’ve got the numbers.

You’ve been out in Colchester on a Friday night, surely.
