RIP Andre Braugher

Only ever saw him in Brooklyn 99. One of the things I love about that show is that each character has their own distinct type of humour, but Raymond Holt was easily the best thing about the show. Hilarious. Perfect casting, and don’t think the show would have worked without him.

61 is far too young. RIP

Sad.

He’ll always be Satch to me.

I quite often look up this photo of him

Oh no. What a shame.

Thought he was excellent in She Said last year too.

I’ve not seen everything he’s been in, probably played a right few bastards, but everything I’ve seen him in he’s played an earnest copper. Probably the definitive police of modern TV and film wasn’t he?

He’s a good bastard in The Mist

och that’s so sad, 61 is so young. Knew him first from homicide but he’s absolutely brilliant in brooklyn 99.

Completely agree.

Such a shame - only know him from Brooklyn 99, but even just from something as light as that you could tell how talented he was.

This pops into my head all the time:

The amount of times I use the gif of this is unreal

Will always be Frank Pembleton from Homicide: Life on the Street.

Proper police.

Fucking sucks

What a guy.

Beautiful bastard too. Cassiel in the unintentionally hilarious City Of Angels was something alright

Like to imagine him with Ganz, Cave and Falk in the Wenders original

R.i.p, he was the best actor in Homicide and kudos to whoever wrote this on wiki.

Genuinely quite distraught by this. I remember reading about how the b99 writers would purposely write these deep monologues for Holt because they just enjoyed watching him acting them seriously enough that it made everything 10x funnier. Such a genius, RIP :broken_heart:

I just shout it as needed, lol. One of my fave Holt moments.

Is there anywhere I can stream all of Homicide Life on the Street?

don’t think so but regularly see the dvd boxsets in the chazzers. it’s a wild ride, some great parts of that show if you can take the rubbish bits.
