I think they removed it. Decided it wasn’t tasteful? I read it a few hours after the link was posted and there were no details. The NME on the other hand had kept it in.
Yeah they have removed the details it since I first posted. Sorry to @zygotic if my reply seemed snarky as a result
He’s on the upcoming album too…
I’m putting on a David Berman tribute night where bands are covering his songs (Honkies, Cairan Dwyer and MIchele Stodart, Viewfinder, Agro Swan) and Joe Dunthorne and John Osborne are reading his poetry. It’s on the 17th of Sept and all proceeds go to mind. You can find the event info on the Brixton Windmill website.
There’s also one happening in Dublin in October which I might go to. Details here for anyone interested:
Been listening to his stuff a lot more again since his passing. I’d never seen the vid for Random Rules and i love it, one of those nineties vids where not much happens but it just fits the song so perfectly:
Went to see Stephen Malkmus tonight, he played two Silver Jews songs
looks like he played them in Glasgow too:
Just came across this. Struggling to express why, but this really affected me. Bit long, but worth a read.
Thanks for linking that. Only discovered his music through Purple Mountains featuring heavily in the end of year lists. Some of his lyrics are just genius !
