one of the best to do it. his turn in Enemy of the State semi-reprising his role in The Conversation picks that film up by the arsehole and drags it from a 5 to a solid watch 7.

As well as his wife, Betsy Arakawa and their dog :frowning:

:worried:

Watched crimson tide and the birdcage both for the first time recently and the conversation for like the 4th time. Guy really was in a lot of good films

Yeah a lot of really good roles I enjoyed watching. What a career

I would say this was prophetic if he weren’t so old…and fuck, if his wife and dog weren’t also dead. Crikey, what’s happened :flushed:

Oh man

:disappointed:

his wife being a mere 63 and a dead dog in the mix as well does sound like this might be a sadder story than meets the eye.

awh man, even though i knew he was pretty damn old still pretty gutting to hear this. One of the absolute greats for me.

Most likely carbon monoxide leak or something like that, I’d hope

Yeah, the inclusion of the dog makes it sounds like that or similar. Oh man.

I’ve been gradually working my way through a lot of Hackman films over the last few months, for no real reason other than that he made a lot of films enjoyable to watch. He was pretty consistently the best thing about whatever film he was in.

Hope the police saying foul play wasn’t a factor means nothing untoward happened at the end.

adding like 7 new films to my watchlist, as I always do whenever someone of this stature goes. Feels like a tribute of sorts

Such a massive screen presence, consistently the best thing in anything he did.
