As well as his wife, Betsy Arakawa and their dog 
Watched crimson tide and the birdcage both for the first time recently and the conversation for like the 4th time. Guy really was in a lot of good films

his wife being a mere 63 and a dead dog in the mix as well does sound like this might be a sadder story than meets the eye.

I’ve been gradually working my way through a lot of Hackman films over the last few months, for no real reason other than that he made a lot of films enjoyable to watch. He was pretty consistently the best thing about whatever film he was in.
Hope the police saying foul play wasn’t a factor means nothing untoward happened at the end.
