Lloyd’s Building is my favourite modern building. The only one thing I like to do when I’m in London is go and look at it - always factor in some time to hover outside. Probably on some kind of watch list.
He has designed another building nearby, on Wood Street. Not as spectacular but still very much not a run-of-the-mill office
I’m not sure what the rules are on speaking ill of recently dead people on here now but he really really isn’t what he’s perceived to be and really really doesn’t deserve the praise he gets. Very charismatic though. I can dm if anyone is interested.
Can you give us an idea? Is he problematic?
They’re closing the Pompidou for 4 years to renovate it. I like to think this is because pipes on buildings are put on the inside for good reasons. Quite like the Pompidou though.
All his buildings were terrible. I hope they are all demolished, bar one or two of them which can serve as reminders of how terrible modernism was.
Calm down, Prince Charles
