The lift doors shudder, and the lift drops half a metre and stops. The lights flicker on, and then off.

The lift doors clang shut and it begins to descend. After about 5 minutes, it stops again. Outside is a corridor even dimmer than the area you just left. The door opens just wide enough for you to squeeze out.

The rusty lift clangs shut and begins to ascend. Higher it higher it goes. Then, with a shriek, the cable snaps. The lift descends again, much faster.
When it stops, kilometres below the surface, your adventure is over.
