I think in terms of sheer compositional mastery, execution, and detail…Corey Fuller’s “Break” on 12k is a monumental achievement that we’ll be talking about in a few years as a hallmark of the genre. It’s a truly beautiful album that is still blowing me away after many, many listens since release.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, and I mean that in the sense that it’s on the “unhurried” and very “still” side of ambient: Jefre Cantu-Ledesma’s “Tracing Back the Radiance” is a stunning work of patient and evolving drone. A meditative experience that works its magic most powerfully in solitary, dark spaces…at least that I’ve found when playing it back a couple times in my low-lit basement studio.

Truly a special year for music, 2019. Will take quite a bit of consideration and many tough choices to narrow my personal list down to even reach a top 10!

Just adding one more voice to the mix, but thanks for the recommendation on Corey Fuller’s ‘Break’.

I live on the south coast and can only make the Monday of Place Language at Cafe Oto, but hopefully I’ll get to say hi then, and I hope the Sunday goes well for you all.

Very much enjoying the new Hainbach record. All haunted, warped drones and sunken piano. Gorgeous stuff.

Just picked up tickets for the 2-dayer at Cafe Oto. Really incredible line-up, and I’m very excited to catch you guys and RAI on consecutive nights!

Yes, we’ll be there both nights so I’ll see you then! Been talking to several artists on the Place Language and Fluid Audio roster and it should end up being a nice little gathering of ambient heads

@McGarnagle lovely to hear, thank you so much! Couldn’t agree more on the lineup, it’s a privilege and I’m excited to see everyone play. It should be very special.

Also - how do you feel about me loading you up with Disintegration State CDs/Tapes?!

I will gladly take anything you’d like to throw at me, as long as I don’t end up with a new carry-on bag for the flight home :joy:

Awesome to have you on the boards, welcome! Thanks very much - for your wonderful work of course (!) but also for the Corey Fuller recommendation… falling deeply in love with this ridiculously beautiful record! All the best for the tour. Really wish I could make it to a show. Next time! (How about Bristol!)

It’s my pleasure. Glad you’re enjoying it! yeah, that dusty, warbling texture on “A Handful Of Dust” is just a thing of beauty; one of my favorite tracks (and albums) of the year.

Funny enough, we were slotted to play Bristol at Cafe Kino before we had an opportunity to play Glasgow and had to cancel…we decided to throw our Scottish friends a bone instead of another England show, since we figured we’d be back soon enough anyway…

The new Barker LP is absolutely blissful, hypnotic, propulsive stuff. Just made an otherwise mundane Friday morning drive down the M4 to Slough a borderline outer body experience. Wow.

Yeah, first listen and this is really good. And I get the impression it’s only going to get better with repeated listens.

Wonderfully serene ambient compilation from Past Inside the Present Label. Our boys worriedaboutsatan on here, 36, Green Kingdom, Olan Mill, Philip Wilkerson, Hipnotic Earth, and others. All for a great cause too.
