As some of you will have realised, I often veer more towards the ‘firmer’ end of our thread genres. Not noise, but proper drone, sometimes struggling with the softer, more ethereal ambient stuff much beloved of many threaders.

However, whether it is just where my head is at the moment (a good story that I will share maybe on request, but not without as it’s just a bit too self-centred) or that the composition is just that good, but Simon Scott’s new 12K (I love that bloody label…) record is mesmerising.

Slightly premature, I realise, but Merry Christmas to the best thread on the 'net.

Really enjoyed this – you’re right, there’s something compositiionally that makes it much more interesting than it sounds on paper. I found myself listening to Below Sea Level a lot during the first lockdown so nice to get this new one now.
