Just noticed the 9128 app has an alarm clock function. T

Hopefully that’ll be a much nicer way to wake up in the morning :grinning:

Look at this lovely thing.

Hope no one minds me bringing this up a month before it’s out but I am INCREDIBLY EXCITED.

VEINS FULL OF SATAN!

Just the tape and digital, yeah - it’s part of a series of split tapes he’s been doing (featuring the likes of Umber, Capac and Polypores, which is pretty grand company to be in). I’m pretty sure the rest have sold out so I really hope I’m not the one to break the streak :grimacing:

No preview I’m afraid! But I can tell you that the Satan side is a ‘15 minute Burial style late night rumbler’ (which is brilliant, I had to go for a walk before listening to my side because I feared how it’d sound in comparison) whereas mine is 12 minutes of synth washes, decayed guitar, a steady pulsing beat and a warped field recording of some sea shanties being sung in a pub in St Ives. Quite pleased with it.

Sorry to bring this into this thread, but The Soft Pink Truth (which is more electronica than ambient) is rapidly becoming my No. 1 album this year, the latter half is one of the most blissful things I’ve heard this year.

certainly no apology needed - it’s an instant classic

Haven’t heard it yet, but I have pre ordered a physical copy based on reviews (and the fact that I really like their Heathens Rage record (which definitely doesn’t fit in this thread)). Hopefully be arriving next week.

Don’t think I’ve seen any mention of the album by Nyx Nott, which is really good. New Aiden Moffatt project that’s not dissimilar to his L.Pierre stuff

“Nyx and Nótt are two mythical goddesses of night, Nyx from the Greek and Nótt from old Norse. The album pulses like the quiet hum of night; the production is clear and crisp with every movement, note and sound augmented with stark clarity - like the amplified sound of a creaking floorboard as you move through the house in darkness. It’s a deeply percussive album, resulting in gentle rhythms that often give way to moments of real stillness and tenderness that stem from the rich orchestration and composition - one that glides from strings to brass to quietly purring electronics. The album moves through jazz, ambient and electronic to result in something that sounds like it might be a score to Moffat’s dreams.”

Lovely single today out on See Blue Audio by Mink Freud. Rhythmic ambience.

Did a predominately black and POC artist show on the MG, and it is full of GREAT 2020 shit.

I’m hopelessly late on this one (came out early April) but I’ve got to say, Field Lines Cartographer’s latest The Glimmering Plane is utterly, utterly stunning imo.

Bandcamp blurb says “62 minutes of long-form electronic music intended to be an immersive, transportive experience“.

Mission accomplished.

Yeah it’s ace! Shoulda been gigging with him back in April were it not for covid

That had to have been gutting. It’ll happen one day! I’d love to be there for it. Leeds, wasn’t it? How about eventually rescheduling for Bristol  But yeah, this album. I’ve had a lot of time for literally everything I’ve heard from the guy, but this one is really quite special, I think.

Yep, leeds indeed! Quite like the idea of northern electronica nerds on tour, playing to socially distant crowds of folks around the countrym

Last year I helped out at a 12-hr audiovisual event in Stockholm called Lumen Project. It was insanely good. They did an online event this year, and did it BEAUTIFULLY.

The Maria W Horn piece (hopefully the timestamp works in the video below) is just… utterly mindblowing. It’s also filmed really nicely in the space the event was held in last year. Can’t recommend this 30 mins highly enough, can’t recommend the rest of the event highly enough. Lush.

Am a bit obsessed by Maria W Horn at the moment - love her stuff.

Do you know if this is getting any kind of physical release?

Thanks!
