This compilation is just perfection

Absolute bargain

Deeply sad. I’d be up for organising a listening club to learn more about her if people were keen.

Would definitely be in for that

Looks like Eluvium is releasing the next in his Virga series on 3 April. Been a while since I listened to the first two but I remember them being dark ambient/drone?

Sorry, bit late but I fucking LOVE this

Absolutely. Such at good hit rate

The new album from kwes. came out today

I’ve had it for a few weeks as I interviewed him this week for the DiS podcast. Such a special record. Ambient but not minimal or always quiet. The episode will be out on Tues and we kick off the pod discussing minimalism :smirk:

Listened to this on repeat, all morning. Managed at one stage to float out of my mind half-awake, and at another part of the morning to marvel at the warm textures.

Top drawer.

On the pod (out on Tuesday), he discussed recording this late at night in a half asleep state, so feels like you found the perfect mindset. If you’re not already subscribed, we now publish the audio in full on Apple, etc and clips on our YouTube channel (it takes forever to edit full episodes and the algorithm seems to prefer shorter videos)

If, like me, you very much enjoy drone that is pretty ‘pure’, then this latest from SUNN O))) co-founder, Stephen O’Malley, is great. Organ drone in its minimalist glory.

Also, forgive me, but have we spent nearly enough time describing just how amazing KMRU’s Kin is? As was suggested in the promo notes, it is very much a successor to Peel, the record which got me into the maestro in the first place. The final, long-form track, in particular, is magnificent.

2026 is already a pretty stellar year for A/D and it’s still February!

Really wanted to like this but turned it off almost immediately. Maybe I’ve reached organ drone saturation.

That Barwick/Lattimore album is an early contender for disappointment of the year, sending me to sleep and not in the good way

I keep trying it hoping it will land for me, but it hasn’t. I love each of their own material so much, it’s quite a big disappointment.

I know there was a lot of love for Marielle V Jakobsons’ Star Core amongst the esteemed posters in these threads. Quite by chance I decided to check in on her bandcamp page, and she released her follow up two weeks ago!

Caterina Barbieri & Bendik Giske have delivered though!

Just spotted that KMRU’s got a couple of UK dates coming up:

  • Apr 24 - Bristol, Arnolfini (tickets)
  • Apr 27 - London, Milton Court Concert Hall, Guildhall School of Music & Drama (tickets)

Gap in between to play at Supersonic as well…?
