Rolling - Bandcamp discovery voyage

Three new ones after last night’s gig:

Kayla Painter http://kaylapainter.bandcamp.com/album/pack-your-bivouac
First track is beat driven shape shifting downtempo house, second is vocal based ambient drift - I’m trying to persuade her to let me get my grubby mitts on the stems of the first track for a remix…

lecu https://lecu.bandcamp.com/album/magnetic-energy
Ambient / modern composition. Homeopath was great live yesterday - probably his most hectic piece (it isn’t very hectic)

Jaxson Payne MIDI-Drum Compositions-3 | dtub | Jaxson Payne
Midi-drum pad savant. As his release notes state, “Each track played live in one take. No overdubs, loops or backing tracks.” Absolutely hypnotic to see live - some of his stuff is Squarepusher-grade complex - I realised after about 20 minutes that I was standing at the front staring and transfixed whilst people danced around me.

Was recommended this, it’s very much my type of thing:

“Don’t take your physical abilities for granted, for you can lose them, with a snap of the neck,” Pierson chants, as the manipulated vocal loop meets dense, orchestral synthesizers and undulating drones that escalate into a triumphant, cinematic beat for “A Snap of the Neck”, the album’s powerful opening track. Genre wise, Live In Oakland defies categorization; seamlessly blending elements from hip hop, dance music, experimental electronics, and free improv/radio art into an idiosyncratic electronic style.

Been getting into Wiktor Stribog’s stuff

Woozy hauntological synth stuff. Reminds me a lot of Kentucky Route Zero / Petscop sort of weirdness

Liking this EBM/darkwave thing:

Bumping this thread as it seems the right place for this electronica opus. IDM with squarepusher style deconstructed jazz elements
