Really want to, going to be really tight as to whether I can get there on time
caught A Giant Dog on tour last year and have been hooked since — kind of glam punk?
Sweet Spirit is largely the same band plus some additional members, though the genre shifts. It’s all fun party rock.
Did make it in time for Lingua Ingota last night - really glad I did too, sounded phenomenal. Author & Punisher was top-tier sensory brutality.
Looks like Pelican have just surprise released a new album.
Looks like they fucked up on Bandcamp and went live with the album by mistake, release date is in June
They may have changed the link it looks like only the one track is streaming at the moment.
Yea, I gave it a full listen through before they fixed it. Really liked it on first listen, quite different but still them.
Loving these, that Cure cover and the new single are ace. Still not my favourite metal cover mind, that would be this…
I can’t stop listening to the Waste Of Space Orchestra album, the riff from Seeker’s Reflection is a permanent earworm just now.
This.
Wake The Possessor followed by the ritualistic Infinite Gate Opening might be the best thing I’ve heard all year!
Any vocals on this one? I like the songs they do with Allen Epley. They should get him in full time and have him do samples or something and then occasionally sing.
Na, no vocals I’m afraid.
Barely relevant to thread but man that latest Coheed album is whack
Been listening to these today, like a heavier Deafheaven I suppose, really good
Was going to post about this tomorrow. Could be an aoty contender.
Whack in a good or bad way?
Really? It didn’t grab me on first listen, but then again neither did their previous album Home that a lot of folks raved about. I’ll give it another go but I found it pretty meh.
When is whack ever good?
Dunno why, I have a pretty low tolerance for Blackgaze but it really grabbed me.
Fair enough.
For me, in the black metal arena, Véhémence, Drawn Into Descent, Kaleikr, Vanum and Hermóðr have all released great albums this year that I feel will contend for the top spot and we’re only in April!
Sleep are touring in October. Tickets on sale Friday - announced dates are Brighton, London and somewhere north, think Manchester.
Definitely doing Brighton if anyone fancies a massive joint on the beach before the show (kidding / not kidding).
