It’s got maybe 2 good songs on it

Can’t remember it tbh, no idea when I last listened to it, think I got it for like £2.99 years ago in a bargain bin!

At least 4 great songs, 3 or 4 good ones, then some average mid-90s NYHC. Starts off well then tails off a bit. Maybe there’s only so much Ray Cappo I can tolerate!

I went to see Shelter at the Garage years and years ago. My brother took a stagedive and mooned Ray Cappo just before he jumped.

That is my Shelter story.

I really liked Freedom, thought their was some good stuff on that (Elektra, War on the Palaces, Old Friends New War, that other one with brass on).

Had a spin of the new one, and it’s proper flat, nothing really stands out except for Dennis’s voice. Such a shame.

Those reunion shows were incredible, them at the Forum in 2012, bloody brilliant.

I quite liked Freedom too (same songs as you), but I thought the Forum show was awful! Not heard the new one yet… bit scared

And Kælan Mikla, who sound like a Goth Ladytron

They’re also playing London (Barbican) on 14/12 with support from MONO.

They’re supporting Mono.
The horror :open_mouth:

Seems an odd pairing to me, unless Mono have taken a heavy turn I wasn’t aware of! :grinning:

It’s a 20th anniversary show for Mono, they’re playing a few shows with brilliant support bands.
Pity Mono are guff

Oh ok. I loved the early albums especially Under the Pipal Tree but I lost interest around the Immortal Wind album.

They toured together a few years ago.

Mono were very, VERY boring. The venue I saw them at had a jazz club in the front bar so sacked off the gig to watch that instead. A sensible decision.

They actually have! Their last couple of albums have been a bit patchy but with some big heavy moments.

I really enjoyed them on the tour with Alcest :man_shrugging:

I mean, what a tune! This was one of the tracks/albums that made me fall in love with post-rock in the first place many years ago!

do you have a robotic hand?

I saw Mono and Alcest a few years back. Was a joint thing I think as both bands played for about the same time. Both were brilliant but Alcest did get a bit boring towards the end. I didn’t know them back then though.

Don’t know if it’s even supposed to be out yet, but Liturgy’s H.A.Q.Q. is up on Spotify and is a fucking BELTER - back to Aesthethica-style NY minimalism tinged black metal with phasing piano and choral harmonies, etc. - no monotone ‘rapping’!

I do. Here’s a little video I did about it earlier this year.
