Wow. I hope it’s not insensitive of me to say, that is really cool!

Cheers, I’m happy with folks saying it’s cool as I think it is as well! :grinning:

I’d only been familiar with Under the Pipal Tree (and only for a couple of years) so this might have to be taken with a grain of salt, but I think their new album is fantastic. This thread prompted me to listen to it again last night and it made the jump from good to amazing. There are a few surprise moments of crushing distortion too.

I shall have to give it a listen, maybe tonight.

I have fond memories seeing Mono about 10 years ago, and they played Kidnapper Bell - my favourite track of theirs. You are There and Walking Cloud are classic albums.

This came out in September but I’m only just hearing it now (as it’s name your price currently!), excellent heavy as fuck, blackened progressive death, blimey.

Just found this lot. Super aggressive post punk/hardcore from Stockholm

immediate album of the year contender

Listened to the new Liturgy in the car on the way in and really impressed!

-Back to the more conventional (ish) Black Metal vocals of ‘Aesthethica’ rather than the weird trancey speak/sing of the previous LP.
-he’s got rid of the migraine inducing tintinnabulation of the previous record as well which is a blessed relief
-BUT he’s still got plenty of experimental flourishes going on (especially the glitchy effects which I think did work well in ‘The Ark Work’) which counteracts my fear that he’d be too conventional after retreating from the more out-there bits of ‘Ark Work’.

Hard to give a definitive view on it yet as the production sounded like balls but that’s almost always the way that trebly metal stuff sounds on my car stereo, have to give it a good listen at home to be more certain as to just how good it really is.

Five or so listens in and think this could well be my favourite release of the year. Has everything I want. I’m a sucker for the pseudo-philosophy nonsense, too.

I reckon you’ll be pleased with it on the stereo - I’ve been listening on headphones and think it sounds great (but my ears are fucked so could easily be wrong).

I’ve bounced off Liturgy before but I’m really enjoying this, good shout!

Two crackers today. The first is a one man Black Metal act from Holy Roar records, this is great stuff.

The second Earth Moves and is a mix of hardcore, death metal and post metal. Not as heavy as that sounds but it’s pretty great.

This is also a great shout, been looking for a band to scratch this itch. Made it halfway through the first track then purchased the whole thing. Been great walking-to-work music this week

fucking LITURGY you ding-dongs it’s the best record since yellow eyes’ rare field ceiling
