Out of interest, did any other bands help you specifically with the lengthy wait for new Tool? I’ve ended up listening to this Ocean record more than any other over the last few days!

I find that Ocean album as boring as the new Tool album :frowning:

Was it very much Bore Inoculum for you?

This is a great LP. Some real solid DOOM.

Posted more for their name to be honest

Some pretty great crossover if that’s your thing though :metal:

New Dawnwalker!

I would post directly but Soundcloud is shit, so I can’t.

Not seen this posted here, but if you haven’t checked out Fawn Limb’s newbie it’s definitely worth checking. Sheer mathcore madness in the fine DEP/Frontierer/Car Bomb tradition.

Prepare to have your ears blown off in as many creative ways as possible.

Some really nice melodic riffs on this 30min album of Norwegian black metal

Did you have a go? I went back and to be honest still enjoyed it. Still sounded pretty bonkers but in a good way but yeah, some solid tunes and some good riffs. Properly heavy at times. Miles ahead of what they did later, but then also can see how they became more popular with later stuff.

Sugar totally took me back to late 90s rock clubs!

SO yeah, overall enjoyable and did make me think i may listen to the new songs and then this popped up on google so i thought nah, fuck it. Forgot the drummer was a douche

I started it and yeah I did enjoy it more than I thought I would, certainly stands out without overamping the wackiness. I didn’t get through it all but not due to not wanting to, more work got in the way! Will try it in full tomorrow

The much anticipated third album by Akhlys has been released a month early! Melinoë is a nightmarish and exhilarating black metal journey, this album just drips malevolence from its very first notes. The album is named after an Orphic Goddess, the bringer of nightmares and madness, the title is well chosen! The middle track is a six minute piece of dark ambience serving as a brief but by no means soothing respite from the fury! I’m on my second listen and I’m definitely listening through good headphones on the next playthrough even though that might give me a sleepless night! :grinning:

Immediate AOTY contender! :metal:

New Cult of Luna available for preorder prior to release early 2021, but no tracks to preview yet. (And the Bandcamp link doesn’t seem to want to appear in the post, but maybe the rest of the world can see it.)

Pleasantly surprised that there’s a new one so soon after A Dawn To Fear. I love that album.

Will be interesting to hear the Mark Lanegan collaboration.

I thought i’d picked this up from in here! Cheers @RatKingCole.

one man black metal from russia. Its like easy listening black metal as its so nice on the ears. Long droney ambient passages drifting into lush sounding black metal riffage.

Really nice to sit back and let it wash over you.

The new Harakiri For The Sky (Austrian post-black) single is excellent, features Neige from Alcest. Their last album was fantastic if a bit long and samey - this and the previous, also excellent single have a bit more range.
