Oh hell yeah. A real goddamn shame that Riley Gale died. He was a force for good. Having someone so vocal in a band that had crossed over (this reads like a bunch of puns but it’s unintended!) pretty much all metal scenes is pretty rare. And to do it with the passion he did was just brilliant.

Not sure if this has been posted already but really enjoying the album from Hexer from a couple of months back. One of the better doom albums from 2020 imo alongside the ones from DVT and MSW.

Got a new ep. Not heavy per se but very riffy in places. Predominantly math rock I guess. I think they’re a real pleasure to listen to though!

Yeah, it’s a bit of a minefield… Just realised Whitehead did the cover art for the Tithe album from earlier this year too.

On a different note, just found out that The Ichthyologist by Giant Squid is getting a re-release (in 2021, but it’s still a fine album in my opinion). Falls under ‘post-metal’ I guess, but laid back jazzy vibes.

I’ve a couple of previous LTD ones they did and they are real nice. The Memoria II one in particular.
