Ah! Cheers

I think it might depend on where you started with ETID. For me their best album is New Junk Aesthetic which is like their 5th album. Never really got on with anything earlier and really not a fan of their southern rock sound. Last album was a beast and the new songs sound excellent. Very tempted to get a ticket for one of the shows. The Bronx will tear the stage up without question!

this is an all timer by them

Just heard a few tracks on a playlist, mainly from their last album. Will have a go at New Junk, thanks for the tip

The most pleasing run of songs for me is The Marvelous Slut through to White Smoke on NJA. What do you make of the new songs?

Yeah I like them! Like you I wasnt keen on the Southern stuff at all (The New Black on GP gets a lot of love but I hate it) and I’ve been a bit indifferent since but the new ones are good. They seem a bit of a throwback to the early stuff while still incorporating their newer sound. What about you? Excited to see them, only saw them once on a tour with Drug Church and 68 but it was rammed and my girlfriend at the time wasn’t enjoying it so we had to leave early, so I havent ever really properly seen them

Really liking them. Agree that they sound like they’re fusing together everything they’ve done up to now (minus the SR thank fook)… well on the 3 they’ve released so far anyway. Oh man that sounds like a perfect line up. Speaking of '68 what are your thoughts on the new album? Not seen any chatter about it at all on here or elsewhere. I almost forgot about it but got round to playing it last week and it’s bloody awesome

Was sure I’d been there for that but I was at the year before when they played with The Body, and it had to be the heaviest thing I’ve ever heard/witnessed. Thou are basically just amazing. Love how collaborative they are.

New Big Brave is predictably HUGE

Yeah I like it! I thought the last one was a bit too bluesy but again, they seem a good balance now. I dont think i would have as much goodwilll towards 68 if it wasnt for Scogin though tbh

The roadburn stuff really was excellent - what a great thing to do. Haven’t watched a lot of it still but hope to do some catching up later. I want to catch what Turner got up to last night at least. Looking forward to the new Body Void LP after their bit also.

It did make me really sad also as was meant to be there for the last two years. Have rolled my ticket forward though so hoping they pull something out the bag which is pretty special for next year. Really made me want to be in a room with lots of smelly long hair and riffs also :sob:

My copy finally turned up yesterday :metal:

They seemed to have pushed on again and on first impression it’s a great album. Full of lots of nods to old school metal and traditional BM but at the more riffy end which i love. They always remind me massively of Dissection which is no bad thing (so long as i only remember the music that is!)

This one was a ripper!

Dvne, Wode, Gama Bomb and Memorium announced for Damnation. Reallllly hope by November isn’t too ambitious for events of that size.

I put on a new album by a band I hadn’t heard before late last night, and now by half past 7 this morning I’ve already listened to it four times. The band are called Bruit, who are a four-piece from Toulouse. The album is called ‘The Machine is burning and now everyone knows it could happen again’. Couldn’t see any mention of the band on these boards before.

Would describe it as a bit of a mix of post-rock, at times more orchestral, with soundscape pieces and the odd almost math-rock-y beats thrown in. Probably doesn’t do them justice. Not all heavy, but when they go big it’s pretty colossal, so I think it fits here.

Listening, I recognise all the elements but they seem to bring it together in a way that’s somehow a little bit different to anything I’ve heard before. Really beautiful. Think I’m already slightly obsessed with it and would be interested to hear others thoughts.

Would really recommend listening to the whole album (never tried a bandcamp link before so not sure if or how this will work):

Also found this great video of a live recording of the album’s final 10-minute crescendo:

Enjoy!

Is Dysrhythmia’s logo meant to look like that (bottom row, 2nd from right) or is it one of the hazards of metal logos that they might occasionally get printed backwards?

I thoroughly second this fervent hope!
