Just getting into these and liking what I’ve heard so far (I’m prob a little more noise rock inclined than BM though).

High Command are good, a less thrashy Toxic holocaust

Napalm Death supporting Volbeat on an arena tour with Skindred is odd

What was the consensus on Conjurer’s Pathos here? It didn’t really stick at the time and I moved on quickly as I had a few recent discoveries I was loving. Gone back to it today (realised my copy was still in its wrapping!) and … Pretty sure it’s not going to stick again. Nothing bad about it but none of the songs really feel like songs, each is about 6 songs smashed together with chugs. Not a patch on Mire. Real shame, had high hopes.

I like Conjurer but I agree with you, their music tends to wash over me a bit. Seen them live a few times and think they’re better in that setting but they’re just not a band I’d ever go to put on really

Yea, it never stuck and wasn’t very good live. As you say, it’s a pity as Mire was a great album.

Enjoying this, death metal from London.

Weirdly I was just revisiting it this morning when I saw this post, after feeling pretty similar.
I don’t think it’s as good as Mire, but I did enjoy it a lot more than I remembered having done previously. Mire was such a high bar that it was going to be hard do something with the same impact, I suppose.

Why is the cover art a painting of Coby Dick from Papa Roach, though?

Yeah, big fan of this. Thought i’d posted it somewhere. filth!

Yeah, didn’t land with me either. To be honest i was the same with Mire mostly but they’ve always been good live so i dunno what to think!

saw Underdark on saturday who were excellent. Im a big fan of the LP anyway but they really sounded great. more aggressive and a great frontperson.

The Suns Journey Through the Night were headlining and although bits were good (and the last song on spotify is ace) something just didn’t quite sit right. Hate to be that guy but it seemed a little…false!

Luna Mercia opened and were bostin’. You could sense the choral passages testing the crowd a bit but then everyone went with it and they sounded great.

I thought I’d come across it on DiS a few weeks ago and searched but couldn’t find anything, entirely possible it was you that put me onto them!

yeah I really enjoyed them at Reaper fest in September. The album didn’t really click with me but live they were ace.

Need to check out SJTTN as they’ve been added to the bill for Abduction’s album release show next week.

Think I’d really like to do mushrooms with the Blood Incantation guys and listen to them tell me about 1970s German prog rock literally no one else has ever heard of. Hope they do another (preferably death metal, but what the hey) record soon.
