Rolling heavy music thread 2024

Let’s see what 2024 has in store for us.

Pretty good this eh? Obviously not to be read cover to cover, but I think a chapter here and there and then dive into that band is a great way of working through it.

Black Metal is a bit of a gap for me. Never got into it growing up (beside the odd bit of Cradle of Filth), so nice to have a structured way to build that knowledge and a ton of new (old) music to enjoy.

I see Sepultura are bringing their farewell tour to Belfast in November. Love the run from BTR to Chaos AD but never really listened to any post Max stuff. Are they still worth seeing these days?

May as well if its a last tour

Ha well I knew you’d read it cover to cover

Btw, I just grabbed that Bull of Apis… record on Bandcamp, absolutely loving it.

Oh shit!! Totally missed this. 5 min walk from my place.

Inhuman Nature are the only ones I know, saw them last year and they were excellent.

Will try do a day, whole weekend might be a bit of a reach.

Edit: Celestial Sanctuary! Ah I wanna go to the whole thing.

Death Goals

Oooh, reminder I haven’t listened to last year’s Cruelty record. Quite wish I could go to this.

Not entirely sure how, but I’ve got the green light on the whole weekend.

New Infant Island features the vocalists from Greet Death and is, predictably, fucking great. Out next Friday and I’d be amazed if it isn’t at 2024 top 5 record already.

this is excellent - Kiande Amedhe. no point explaining the genres but if you like the Callous Daoboys with a more serious edge, this’ll do it
