Rolling Heavy Music Thread 2026

Yes! I bloody love the last album, still give it regular plays. To be honest after nine years I’d assumed they were done so this is excellent news! New track sounds great too.

I’m now annoyed that I forgot to put their last album in my top 50 albums. FFS.

Listened to this last night (in a pitch black hotel room while my family were asleep, for extra ambience) and it is immense. Might very well be my aoty so far

Fuck me, saw Sumac last night and whilst expecting some enjoyment, they were so good. Not so much ‘fucking around’ and just party. Turner seemed like he was having the most fun I’ve seen him in about 20 years. And Brian :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::smiling_face_with_three_hearts: (sorry to be reductive but he’s a sexy man and bass king!)

So yeah, if you were unsure about going then would recommend.

Chained…. Were fun also

Super jealous. There are 4 gigs (Sumac, Sugar Horse, Mortuary Drape, Full of Hell) in a London I’d be at this weekend, but can do any of them.

Oh man that sucks! I’m going to the full of hell tour here in brum. Can’t wait. One of the most consistently good live bands around.

I saw them in Glasgow on Tuesday night and they were absolutely spectacular, posted about it on the last night’s gig thread here. Agree that Brian is a fine looking man! I read an interview with Aaron a while back where he basically said that while Sumac is a collaborative effort he’s very much the main decision maker and songwriter, which he seems to prefer to the more equal division of responsibilities in Isis.

It’s bloody brilliant! It’s been on almost daily rotation for me. Might well be my AOTY so far too

A post metal Massive Attack cover. It’s a very pleasing wall of guitars at the end.

New Immolation is monstrous. Can easily see it being one of my favourites this year.

I hadn’t seen them - thank you!

So this is amazing.

Fainting dreams.

It starts of shoegaze, goes Holy Fawn and then switches to Julie Christmas style metal.
