Rolling Hip-Hop Thread 2026

looking forward to this a lot from the singles. like how they’ve taken a few years to craft it too.

Nice. I like Sebb Bash. Although have found some of ELUCID’s non-Armand Hammer stuff hit or miss.

This is great. Feels like a load of styles chucked in a blender with all the blender noise left in and yet still comes out catchy as hell

And there IS a new album :heart_eyes:

A$AP Rocky album seems solid enough. Basically what I was expecting. Fine, not a disaster, more interesting and adventurous than most other rappers with his following are making, but not necessarily more consistent. Feels like a continuation of Testing 7 years on, for better or worse.

It was never going to be worth the wait, but I guess the mild disappointment remains that it’s yet another one of the handful of rappers with a massive platform and every possible resource at their disposal failing to properly make a mark with their album.

I’m enjoying it fine enough. Don’t think he’s ever made a really good album though tbh. Few good singles early on but overall his whole career is pretty mid.

I thought it was fun but isn’t (and probably was never going to be) a classic.

Think I need to admit to myself that half the draw of what I originally liked about him was actually Clams Casino.

Will probably be a download exclusive for a month before hitting streaming

Yeah, probably. He’s been really hiking up the prices too. I didn’t mind paying, but I think the last one was $40 which is too much IMO.

Atmosphere just announced a new European tour with Sage Francis as support and I feel like i’ve been transported back to 2004. May have to check out the London date

not expecting much from the album but this new tip song is good

This came up on my instagram

And it’s got me wanting to listen to more jazzy rap with vocalists flowing in and out of each other…basically A Tribe Called Quest. But I’ve got all the old 90s stuff down, any recommendations from the past five years or so?

New Denzel EP out 6th of March

There is ALWAYS stuff you won’t have heard. I’m still finding stuff 30 years later.

That YouTube clip is great though. Reminded me of MOOD.
