Can’t remember if this came up in last year’s thread, but another Russian band, Life On Venus released their second album. Kinda gothy dream pop.

Lovely stuff

Ah sweet, didn’t realise they had a new album out! Really enjoyed seeing their live show a few years ago

Psych from Mali. Not sure which thread to post this in, but maybe this will do. Great stuff.

Album released on 22nd May. Some new tracks that will be on the album are on Spotify.

I’ve been on a deep dive with Whipping Boy over the last few days I didn’t realise how shoegazing some of the early stuff is. This is from one of their ep’s. Play it loudly.

And I’d forgotten Rollerskate Skinny. What’s his face from MBV’s brother, making beautiful, noisy, tuneful music.

I’ve been enjoying the Irish music thread

Velveteen have followed up last year’s MBV derivative work with another EP. More of the same, i.e. excellent!

Two decent album length releases in the last few weeks.

First, Bedroom by bdrmm (9/10 from nme no less):

Good variation in sound throughout, but comfortingly familiar.

And in more of a Kevin Shields vein, Bleached Wavves by Zoon, much more complex and 9/10 from exclaim!

This one really gave me the shoegaze goosebumps.

Really enjoyed giving this spaced out dream pop album a listen. One I’d missed from Feb this year. Apparently half the songs were mastered by Simon Scott. Another 9/10 from Exclaim! Mag.

This is very good, thanks for sharing. This and that Zoon LP is on repeat at the moment. The Bdrmm LP is also good and getting better with each listen, happy daze!

Bit of a jag as it’s a Disintegration State release and I did the mastering, but the new Jacob Nico album (aka @BifoIsou) is wonderful stuff. Goes from beautiful shoegaze song stuff to fractured guitar-drone soundscapes. Reckon people in this thread will find a lot to love in it.

There’s a band from Barnsley called Weedipus. I’ve really enjoyed their first couple of singles. Well worth a look.

Just found out that Taiwanese band DoZzz (yes I know, it’s an awful name) finally released their debut album a few days ago, entitled Passage.

These guys released an EP back in 2017 that I discovered via the Asian Shoegaze Youtube channel and fell in love with it immediately. At the risk of sounding really wanky, I find their brand of shoegaze intoxicatingly atmospheric and grandiose. There’s a dramatic heaviness to it that’s hard to put into words. And so I hope this album lives up to my expectations.

Nothing are back!

Adored Guilty of Everything, loved parts of Tired of Tomorrow. Didn’t click with Dance on the Blacktop.

This seems very good. A bit derivative of the 90s sound I heard back then, but still promising. I’ve spent too much on a sexy looking variant of the new LP from the relapse store.

Really annoying. I checked yesterday when i sae this song on my release radar, and the website didn’t have anything about a new album. Now all but the final least ltd one is sold out.

Is there a UK store?
