Got as far as them citing Eoin O’Malley :joy:

(revised text on the lhs)

lhs = left hand side, I presume. Certainly the one on the left feels like it must be the revised one, right?

Even without any real understanding of the detail that was a painful read.

I also liked this little snippet:

Euroskeptic parties in Germany, France, and Italy have mostly abandoned previous plans to follow Britain out of the EU, plotting instead to dismantle the bloc from within.

as if all those other guys Farage hung out with were like, “Yeah, leave the EU let’s do it, you do it first, Nige, we’re right behind you! Actually it’s a shit idea isn’t it, we’ll just ‘dismantle it from within’, yeah? Cool. Not sure how long that will take, mind you…”

yeah, but the third tweet seems to be under the impression that it’s the other way around, which threw me

i mean the one on the left is still sugarcoated but obviously a big improvement from the bullshit on the right

Well obviously putting the new stuff up first is a bit confusing but I thought they were talking about their issues with the new one when they said 'connection’s [sic.] and the new one just says “The British Empire connected Scots with the world” which very much feels like it’s downplaying their active involvement even though ‘British’ naturally includes Scottish. So they’re implying the old version was more accurate in terms of how it includes Scotland?

Came in here to post this. Good work Lonzo.

I’m German when posting in this thread.

There’s also basically no supporting infrastructure around there for it to plug into. So you’re either ploughing new motorways through parts of rural Scotland or decanting the traffic onto an A-road.

That road from Stranraer to Dumfries is already a nightmare.

My wife is from Kirkcudbright which is on that route.

Nice town, complete and utter dickhead to drive to from literally anywhere.

Takes four hours to get to it, and then you only bloody blow up once you get there anyway! Shambles!

I get the ferry across sometimes and the long bus journey on the other side is the worst bit*. Imagine going by bus the entire way across the sea as well.

*Lovely views though.

Ah balls to that. At least on the ferry you can have a walk round, watch telly, get a bite to eat etc
