I’ve got an Irish name that’s a bit tricky to spell if you’re not familiar and can be spelt a couple of ways tbf, but it still pisses me off to no end when people respond to an email or whatever and get it wrong when my name is RIGHT FUCKING THERE

Not Irish duh, but just to make a general work gripe - I had someone spell my name wrong twice, in two different ways over a couple of emails, despite it being spelled correctly in my signature and email address.

So if you take the standard level of email stupidity/carelessness and then add anything vaguely foreign into the mix … you’re gonna have a bad time.

spectacularly passive aggressive behaviour from a girl in another department, she’s clearly so sick of people spelling her name wrong that she’s coloured the letters they normally miss out/get wrong in red in her signature, like this: [1]

Yeah tbf my name’s not common outside Ireland and it looks like it should be pronounced a different way so I get that, but I never understand how English people can’t grasp my simple explanation of it or repeat it back to me when I’ve just said it. It’s only 2 syllables but I’ll say it for them and they’ll say it back to me completely differently.
