Apparently Marty Scurll was the original idea for the leader before he resigned to ROH and he’d have been the same, nobody would want to boo him really. Imagining Broken Matt trying to be a genuine heel is tickling me even now though so would be happy to see it. Now SCU have beaten them there’s really not much left for them to do without changing it up.

I heard the Marty rumour. If that was the plan teasing the exalted one before he’d signed was a bit silly.

For the sinister cult thing to work they needed to rope in a big hitter or two to give it some credibility but I guess none of them felt like gambling on a failing gimmick. May as well give Matt the reins and get weird instead.

yeah, you’ll like what jericho has been doing. the build to the cody match at the last ppv was tremendous stuff as well even if the match itself wasn’t

I’d say so. Better promos, interviews, faster pacing than WWE, everything at least attempts to tie in to everything else. If you like comedy wrestling there’s more than a few of those too.

So remember the two execs that were sacked for no reason? They’re now apparently part of a lawsuit against wwe, mostly for lying to their own investors over the Saudi deal (apparently they’ve not been paid for the last few times they’ve gone, there’s no outward expansion into markets near Saudi as promised, and that attempting to cover up that plane hostage situation). Also as it kind of looked on the surface, that their big stock drop off last year was essentially massive insider trading. Bad news.

tl;dr give it 2 years and Disney will be snapping up the whole lot at a bargain price

What was every bodies opinion on the women’s elimination chamber? I like what they were going for with making Baszler look like a killer, but the execution for me didn’t really work. I think she finished most of them off to quickly and the waiting around was too long. Would have loved her to play around with Morgan a bit longer, like a lion with a piece of food. Bit of a shame Baszler didn’t cut a promo when it was Morgan and Asuka in their pods
