Roxy Music

Best band not to have a dedicated thread on here?

They deserve more than this.

What did Bryan Ferry say when he fell asleep on the Northern Line and woke up where it terminated?

“Morden, this”.

Not arsed about them generally but I love this so much

I think the post-Eno records are quite underrated - they have a lot of good stuff on them.

Hey, howzit going?

(Good band)

Tunes for days, just a shame he’s a Tory. Are we allowed to do Bryan Ferry songs as well, or is this thread STRICTLY Roxy Music?

Woah coincidence, was thinking this the other day, nothing else like RM. Mum and dad got to see them live a few times early on and had first four records which are the ones I know best (did get into Avalon a few years later)

Love the songs where they do effortless about turns

Has to be considered together with the RM stuff, I think. You see it less often these days, but I like that in the past where an artist would have their day job in a band and then kind of moonlight as a gun for hire doing covers records and stuff on the side.

Love his cover of These Foolish Things:

There was a good review on PF a while back that provided lots of detail on what he was up to in the early nineties:

Wedding-do standard heavy hitter, forgotten how great the video is in terms of cool eighties excess

Like this slightly laidback version of Pyjamarama

I had no idea Pyjamarama existed until about 5 years ago. Imagine that, getting an all-timer “new” single from one of your favourite bands, 50 years after the fact. I couldn’t believe my luck
