Feel like Ru is getting worse at hosting, very little volleying the jokes around from him. He absolutely let Elliott drown, although tbf it didn’t look like she did herself an favours.

Sick of Kandy, she was just being herself. Mik was no Bimini but she smashed it.

lost one of my two faves. just another reason to not care about the season. only Symone left to care about now :frowning:

i feel like i’m losing my mind… i see what they say about ‘embodying’ and yeah Olivia’s makeover of Denali wasn’t great but every time they showed Olivia i instantly knew who she was made over to look like!! it was such a good likeness!! am I going mad!! FUCKING HELL I JUST WATCHED THE PREVIEW FOR NEXT WEEK AND IT TOOK ME 30 SECONDS OF CONFUSION TO REMEMBER IT WAS OLIVIA DRESSED AS DENALI WIPING OFF THE LIPSTICK MESSAGE, NOT DENALI HERSELF

i hated, truly hated, Tina/Rose’s looks on each other, absolutely cursed content, oh my god. they did ‘embody’ each other well but their looks looked horrible on each other

i also didn’t really get Kandy from Mik, i know she tried but it didn’t translate for me at all :confused:

Kandy and Mik felt like they were just being stereotypes of a valley girl and an aggressive New Yawker, it didn’t feel particularly difficult or polished at all. Really thought they’d get clocked for that but clearly, production likes them. Can’t believe Kandy was saved so that DENALI and OLIVIA both were on the chopping block, wtf.

Between this riggery and the fact the season is NEVER ENDING, not sure I cba to keep watching. HOW ARE EIGHT OF THEM LEFT, how many did we start with?!

i think the issue, apart from the ludicrously protracted season, is that there’s no cast chemistry. they don’t gel naturally, there are almost no compelling storylines from the group, it’s a bunch of individuals interacting at the whims of the producers. i think they are all talented enough, but especially in lieu of any narrative, there’s only one superstar in the bunch - and if Symone doesn’t win the season I would seriously consider taking a break from the US season, especially when the rumoured AS6 cast is so underwhelming.

seen it suggested that the length of the season is so they can buy time and hopefully have a live finale. hmmmmmmmmm

Not thrilled on the result but I thought that was an excellent adaptation of the makeover challenge. Easily the best episode so far.

agreed, also love that someone gently called her out with “you can’t own flames!” Feel like her time was definitely up. Also interested to see some cracks in Gott Mik! Mik is the Tayce for me, as in so lovable and good on camera but can’t see them winning the whole thing.

Rose’s on a pretty good trajectory atm, but Symone is running away with it innit. Felt like one of those where as soon as Tina was in the bottom 2 she’d be gone

If Symone doesn’t win I don’t know that I can be bothered watching US seasons going forward. She’s unbelievable, to be that clever, stylish and creative and ALSO be genuinely funny, I think she is absolutely amazing. One of the best and most exciting contestants to ever have been on the show.

I was genuinely shocked by Utica this episode. After all the excessive, OTT concerns about being cancelled in previous episodes, she then went on a fatshaming joke rampage in the practice and just kept fucking going? And trying to be cute with it? Fuck off. Fuck right off. I thought her cancellation concerns were performative and it feels like this has just laid that bare. Her actual performance, bar the opening joke, was the worst roast performance of all time: almost legendarily awful but also unbelievably uncomfortable to watch. I howled at Loni’s heckle. I’m fucked off that Symone was called bottom two first - she was bad but Utica was just like, all-time terrible, the definition of how not to do it. God, Utica. What the fuck?

I thought Gottmik easily had the best set - she was brilliant and I a-lolled a few times, this is the first week where I’ve really seen her as a threat to Symone. I actually probably laughed out loud more times at Olivia’s jokes than Rose or Kandy’s. Kandy made me laugh a few times towards the end of her set but I didn’t find the opening that funny at all and ultimately I’m just starting to feel a lil bit gaslit by how much the judges are living for her. I think the hate towards her online has been hugely disproportionate - she’s not nasty or terrible, just annoying - but the judges have been trying to make her happen for weeks and it feels forced. I’m not really seeing much growth from her as a competitor which is making the whole thing feel really flat. Will be shocked if she’s not crowbarred into the final 4.

I definitely have felt like Mik has had a pass on a few challenges where she should have been bottom 2, but it’s clearly because Ru truly vibes with her - they have great banter, there is a clear personal connection and deep respect for her as an artist, performer and person; Ru sucks at hiding when he’s not legitimately vibing with a queen. anyone who thinks it’s a conspiracy theory should think about Gia Gunn not even being in the top for her AS4 talent show performance!

I could maybe understand the thought process early on of wondering about this, not as a slur on Mik but as one on Ru - because of his opportunism and greed, recognising that his dodgy record on trans rights has damaged the brand and wanting to appear more inclusive to make more dolla… but nah. I’m all in on a Symone win but Mik would be a worthy winner and she’s definitely defied my expectations of her and her skillset is way more diverse than just ‘look queen’.

Totally agree, and I think if she can hone her persona in the next few years she’ll be a lock for All Stars. I think Symone will be a very worthy winner and one whose potential is absolutely huge but she’s definitely got an element of diamond in the rough with how she goes to shit when she’s not excelling. but I also think she deserves all her wins in a way that few of the 4-win queens have - I’d say she’s probably been judged the most accurately of anyone for me, although i’d have had her in the top over Rose for Snatch Game.
