Expect his tour to be cancelled as well. Adding the extra nights a few days before the story broke is dodgy as fuck.

Treating it as hard cancelled.

An interesting read on being a fan in the fallout of this news

A note from Phoebe Bridgers

Finding it a bit odd that the tour still hasn’t officially been pulled. The album was binned pretty much immediately. The fuck are they waiting for?

If he decided to bury his head in the sand and just do the tour, what do you think would happen? Half empty venues? Demonstrations outside? Surely there is no way this tour is going ahead.

I know a load of diehards who have washed their hands completely of him and have asked for refunds but, equally, there seem to be a fair few people in the Archive group on Facebook who’ll stand by him whatever.

Even if it did go ahead, I can’t even begin to imagine the awkwardness.

Maybe legal issues related to contracts that mean he is trying to wait for promoters/venues to cancel?

Nah, not much to do with him. It’s whether his band/promoter/manager/roadies/whatever quit. And whether his solicitor says it would look like an admission of guilt probably.

Really wish I hadn’t got tickets. Hope he cancels, but I won’t re-sell if he doesn’t as I’d rather leave the seats empty.

Probably one of the most important artists in my life and, cliche though it is, he got me through some awful times - and inspired me to do some really good things. I hung my head when I woke up to the news. I’d just thought to myself the other day that his sobriety probably made him quite secure in a world of drunken arseholes preying on women, but it turns out obviously that you can do that just as well sober.

I know he has mental health issues, and as ever in these cases, I’m afraid I can’t help but think of the isolation and misery of the position he’s put himself in. He thought he was miserable as a beloved singer songwriter? Well, I’ve got news…

His reputation is deservedly in ruins whether he’s prosecuted or not - and that doesn’t sound as unlikely as it usually does in these cases. I wish I could never hear another word about him tbh. A disaster.

Also really regretting getting tickets. Was a big fan of Heartbreaker and thought the last couple of albums were pretty solid. My mate though was a huge fan and had been wanting to see him live for years but never got round to it. Said mate has been along with me to see bands he had no real interest in and I was looking forward to repaying the time he’d invested.

Obviously will not be going.

They will probably be cancelled, remember similar uncertainty after brand new

I’ve been a huge fan of his since 2000 and bought every album as soon as it was released and have seen him live a few times. Always thought he was troubled, but incredibly talented, and being a fan of his in the early 2000s was great fun as he had loads of unreleased albums you could search the net for (‘Pinkhearts’, ‘Suicide Handbook’, ‘48 Hours’). I always loved Whiskeytown and think their ‘Strangers Almanac’ is an absolute classic. I don’t think i’ll be able to stop listening to his old stuff like ‘Heartbreaker’, ‘Gold’, ‘Cold Roses’, ‘Strangers Almanac’ as these albums mean too much to me to discard at this stage. I don’t know how i’ll feel about any future recordings yet, however, i think that decision will be made for me as i doubt he’ll have much of a career to come back to.

A statement from his guitarist/best friend which seems to say it all. I just hope the spiralling nightmare he seems to allude to takes place in private:

Why is he actively afraid for the safety of his family? Does he think people angry at what Adams has done will be trying to attack his family or does he think Ryan’s friends will?
