Yeah I can totally relate to all of this. I have a 160GB iPod Classic that I never really use anymore, full to capacity, and I’d hazard a guess that well over 50% of the stuff on there is Adams/Cardinals related.

I’m really thankful that Big Thief broke out properly when they did because - stylistically and in terms of how prolific they seem to be - they have helped fill quite a huge void.

The guy was a foundation stone in me and my wife getting close when we started our relationship, and soundtracked tonnes of important moments for us. I wouldn’t say all those things are now tainted because of what he did, but his music was inextricably linked in there, and it makes things bittersweet. Same with Brand New, massive shared love of ours, we went to see them together early in our relationship, completely intertwined with our shared past. So everything is a bit sadder, and whenever I see an update here I’m really hoping he’s facing justice because at least then there would be something right about what’s going on. As it stands, he’s just a shit who’s getting away with it, and who knows what other bad things he’ll do.

I listened to some songs from Heartbreaker and Gold today. It’s such a whirlwind of emotion to listen back to meaningful songs that have been tainted. I miss these songs. I wish that he would face justice, and selfishly I wish that I could enjoy his songs like I used to.

What was the substance of the investigation? The sext-like DMs with the 17YO girl?

Call me a cynic but I can’t imagine the FBI looking at that as something worth the effort, especially if he’s not a proven physical offender. Look at yer Brand New - he did the same with (from memory) girls under 16 and nothing at all came of it.

Adams and a young woman, who said her online communications with the singer began when she was 14 and continued until she was 16, exchanged text messages and conducted video calls that sometimes included nudity.

So i presume she has evidence of their communications.

I’ve no idea how seriously or not they take that type of thing which is pretty depressing in itself
