This one is a bit better because it is collected (translated) Japanese folk tales, so there is a fair bit of variation within the general themes covered. I’ll tell you one thing though, traditional Japanese storytelling really knows how to end on an anti-climax.

My favourite story I have read recently was about a painter who’s house caught fire, he rushed out leaving his family inside, and excitedly set to painting the flames because he realised he had been painting them wrong for years.

The coverage was poor (the score captions were huge last week), but the game was terrible. Really fussy reffing, loads of reset scrums and no flow to the game.

I’ve just got back from playing games at a board game cafe. It was fun.

I am now drinking a really nice M&S beer and having a very late dinner of mac n cheese.
