Alright? Got to go to work shortly. Windy as fuck outside and all grey so I’d much rather not actually. What you got going on today?
Morning!
Had an offer for our first house (flat) accepted yesterday and I’ve been awake most of the night thinking about everything we suddenly have to do/buy/pay for etc. Gave up about 5.30 and got up. Currently doing a crossword and listening to Tim Hecker with a pot of coffee which is quite nice with the shitty weather outside.
Other than that all bets are off as I’ll probably want to go back to bed by lunchtime.
Morning all!
I went to bed last night with a bit of a sore throat and snotty nose. I’ve woken up with a definite sore throat, snotty nose and aching joints from playing football.
I’m going to be drinking juice all day and probably resting.
Snuggled up on the sofa watching Sarah & Duck with silly toddler. Minimal plans for the day.
Quack!
Have you watched the Old Toys episode? It was on earlier this week for the first time in ages, it is my R’s favourite for reasons that are obvious when you watch it. Very Kraftwerk-inspired music on it.
Morning
Ceiling is leaking over the table, that’s good. Handy that we’ve been eating breakfast at the breakfast bar anyway.
Plans today involve spooky things at R’s request, so we’ll be listening to The Monster Mash quite a lot I imagine.
Don’t think so. Series 3 has gradually been trickling onto iplayer recently so I imagine we’ll get to it this weekend. What a wonderful show - really glad R likes it so much
Awake and after falling asleep on the sofa last night I estimate I have had 10 hours sleep so am super chipper.
Seeing my sister later and her adorable kids…then going OUT for pizza. Wows
I have a haircut which I’m very slightly nervous about bexause i am silly
So many great S3 ones coming up - Brolly Bus, Park Trimming, Cloud Jam, Snowball Skate, Haber Dasher
Think how much lower your ears will look after though
They’re very well hidden, they may be cut off completely!
Remind the hairdresser to be careful about that then, just to be safe
“PROTECT MY MONEYMAKERS FROM THE CRUEL BLADE OF THINE SCISSOR, HAIRCUTSPERSON. IF YOU DO NOT COMPLY, I WILL BE FORCED TO SEEK MY REVENGE IN THIS AND ALL OUR SUBSEQUENT LIVES ON THIS EARTH”
“ok I’ll take extra care not to cut your ass”
“No I meant ears… but I am very flattered. Someone is getting a tip today!”
Lime pickle must be the most sour substance on Earth.
Pickled tangfastics?
Genuine question here I’m toying with in terms of correct terminology. As history lead I want to celebrate black history but not just for a month, for the entire year and weaved into the curriculum. Had a brainwave over night, with the idea of getting parents to send in recipes to make a cookbook to sell for Christmas to raise money for the school. We have an extremely diverse culture of all ethniticies.
Would it be insensitive to roll with the idea to call it “BAME History” as it’s throughout the whole year and allows all children to learn about all cultures in the school or is it being rude and sidelining the importance of black history?
- It’s rude and insensitive
- It’s inclusive

Getting new flooring throughout the flat, absolutely lashing it down obviously which is great.
I think that’s fine as long as you make sure to plaster over any comms about it “black history month will be kicking off our permanent commitment to BAME history on the curriculum”.
Just had some toast. Will have a shower and then work
