This is so iconic amongst our generation.

I remember the first time I heard the track… In the back of a cab with my mum and gran as we had a little holiday in Blackpool.

The Wannadies are so ingrained into my cultural consciousness. Me and an ex drove out to a beach on the Iom and listened to be a girl the entire way.

And then corrie. Hillman.

The same sort of cultural consciousness has affected me in the last couple of days. Watching Quiz and remembering so vividly watching it happening in real time in 2001. Forgetting slash not realising the episode was broadcast the day before 9/11. Today biking round my neighbourhood and feeling twelve or thirteen all over again… Just riding back and forth down the same residential streets. People smiling and saying hi to each other.

I might have had a wee wine.

Watching Fleabag Live.

Richard Hillman lives (or used to live) near an ex. Used to see him about all the time. Must be very weird to be that kind of famous

Ffs, you’d think there wasn’t lots of cool intertwining of Japanese mythology with a modern and changing landscape, excellent voice acting and animation, and an impressive balance of comic and more serious themes because all anyone ever, ever talks about is the testicles.
