Come on @fappable @witches @epimer you’re giving me flashbacks to childhood birthday parties

when I cook a meal, it doesn’t taste nearly as delicious as when someone else cooks it. not because its shite, but because of some other reason:

  • yes
  • no

I’m too nude for Zoom now

the only thing I don’t get this with is with stuff that goes in the oven for an hour or so, or needs to sit and rest before eating.

something like a steak and chips - I know its tasty because people tell me its tasty, but I just can’t enjoy it that much. think its because you’re stood over the stove inhaling the smells, and the end result is a boring and predictable meal.

Usually prefer my own cooking to others :man_shrugging:

i do come from a family stacked with great cooks tbf, but there are few things that I prefer my version of. my tortilla (aside from my Gran’s), spag bol, and my sandwich game can’t be messed with.

guess I love being cooked for.

Is this happening??

It’s this I think, and the fact that sometimes it seems like work and the fun goes out of enjoying it.

We are on Zoom

was actually thinking about that burger i had earlier. I know the brioche fucked it, but I couldn’t even properly taste the patty, cheese or anything else, really. eating it was a chore tacked on to the end of preparing it.

Burgers are bad for this I find cause of all the sensory things that go along with cooking it (smell, sizzling etc) it’s like you’ve had it once already.

also realized that I’d forgot to do the fucking onions. remember looking at the onions earlier thinking ‘i must remember to include the onions’ and for some reason didn’t.

Did you make the patty?

nah. tbh, burger night happened because most of the ingredients were on offer.

difficult to make a good burger yourself without access to a butchers IMO.

btw, waitrose onion rings are the fucking shit. game changers.

whole album is good obv
