Turned into to quite a nice day, eating lunch in the park, listening to Chastity Belt.
Came back from Croatia on Thursday morning. Going to Slovenia next Thursday for work, and then on to Austria for the following 12 days. Then I come back overnight and then head to Cambridge to teach a summer course over July. Oh yeah, I also have an interview for a permanent job on Weds that I have to prepare a presentation for. It’s all go here.

So I’ve already seen a two piece Arab Strap style band whose songs were all about the female experience in Ireland, a modular synth set that had an interpretive dancer, an art exhibition dedicated entirely to one of my friends and a smooth jazz set. This day can only get weirder.
This theme deserves a thread of its own but at an all day experimental music festival, I saw a group who’d miked up an ironing board and a trolley table and were hitting chicken breasts with hammers while a man using a wheelchair shouted into a microphone.
That’s brilliant! Exactly the kind of stuff I’d expect to see here. There’s definitely a thread in that.
Just managed to climb my big project First time I’ve climbed something of that grade of difficulty (V9 in case anyone cares). Wasn’t expecting to stick the big move I’ve been falling from and then my brain basically shut down when I did it first go today. Second half of the climb was consequently a desperate scramble, but I’m feeling super proud right now.

back from bike ride. it was lovely and sunny down at the seaside, was in nardini’s (famous ice cream shop) and didn’t buy an ice cream although I was extremely tempted.

Man wish I was on the bike today, but my best mate and his fiancée have come up from the south coast. I’m envious.
