So I’ve already seen a two piece Arab Strap style band whose songs were all about the female experience in Ireland, a modular synth set that had an interpretive dancer, an art exhibition dedicated entirely to one of my friends and a smooth jazz set. This day can only get weirder.

This theme deserves a thread of its own but at an all day experimental music festival, I saw a group who’d miked up an ironing board and a trolley table and were hitting chicken breasts with hammers while a man using a wheelchair shouted into a microphone.

Just managed to climb my big project :smiley: First time I’ve climbed something of that grade of difficulty (V9 in case anyone cares). Wasn’t expecting to stick the big move I’ve been falling from and then my brain basically shut down when I did it first go today. Second half of the climb was consequently a desperate scramble, but I’m feeling super proud right now.

back from bike ride. it was lovely and sunny down at the seaside, was in nardini’s (famous ice cream shop) and didn’t buy an ice cream although I was extremely tempted.

Pretty good day on the whole, went to a village summer fayre, went to the park and enjoyed being with the kids.

Now at home, alone, listening to music and feeling a bit down about getting cross with my little boy earlier. Not that it wasn’t warranted, but telling him he couldn’t watch the 2nd half of Scotland v England as a consequence broke his little heart which, in turn, broke mine. Hate having to be a hard-line Dad from time to time. But, needs must. It’s going to haunt me for the rest of the evening though.
