Melatonin should help especially if the problem is falling asleep as opposed to staying asleep. Might have to order online because you can’t get them over-the-counter in the UK (I think?) but it’s pretty cheap.

Melantonin is prescription only in the UK. I’ve got a giant bottle I got in a chemist in Singapore that I hoard.

Be careful though @dktrfaustus - one of the side effects is really really bizarre dreams. I think it’s not so noticeable when people take them for jetlag to reset because your brain is fried then anyway, but when I tried taking a few to sleep better, the difference in dreams was very noticeable.

Valerian is a gentler herbal alternative. Makes cats love you too.

yeah I got that too, extremely vivid dreams, not always pleasant. A lot of the melatonin tablets you can buy are too high really, supposedly the recommended scientific dosage is 0.5 mg but they can go up to 3/5 mg per tablet.
I found 2mg works for me but it can vary. Also easy to build up a tolerance to it.

I’ve actually found some Nytol herbal tablets. No idea where they’ve come from as I’ve never taken then but I’ll see how they go tonight.
