It is what it is.
“I can’t believe it’s [month] already! This year is going so fast.”
Read that as Mandolin Pete initially. He’d be quite a character
“Can’t be bothered”
“Hows it going?”
“Well… it’s… going!”
just a bit of a tut and a shake of the head is all that is required sometimes
I say ‘have a good evening’ when I leave the office which seems empty but I genuinely do hope they have nice evenings.
“see you tomorrow”
*colleague returns having forgotten something*
I say this all the time and I hate myself for it.
Working flexi time is good for automatic conversation fillers.
“What time are you in to?”
“What time did you get in?”
“How’s your flexi balance looking now?”
Never an awkward silence with these gems in your back pocket
already looking forward to saying it tomorrow
considered saying it today but don’t want to out myself as a loose cannon
Sounds like they’re trying to grass you up mate.
I have said before and like you hate myself for it
Fine if you say it on Mondays
I say “don’t forget to go home!” when encouraging my team to leave work at a reasonable hour. Really deeply banal when I think about it.
I sometimes end the day by saying “See you in the morning, if I don’t die in the night”
change it up to “if you don’t die in the night”
instantly far more sinister
