Wasn’t my poll, but I agree. Incubus is also a stretch, there’s basically that one album that sounds a little bit nu-metalish, but not really.
Should probably put Taproot in there, they were definitely part of that 7-string scene.

This is now the Listing Nu-Metal band thread!
slipknot, hed(pe), static-x…
needs a new poll really
I don’t count Slipknot as nu-metal. Certainly not their debut, it’s far dirtier/naughtier/heavier than - for example - Break Stuff.
I consider Break Stuff as the prime example of nu-metal.
the debut is deffo my-metal. it’s just the korn sound taken to its logical conclusion
fucking hell guys. had to change my answer to Jimmie Rodgers for some balance. Have some respect!

yeah, that one’s too hard to pick just one
Indeed. I couldn’t not pick Fugazi but could easily have had Mission of Burma or Replacements if they weren’t on there

The one white man in a black scene and 35% of you vote for him. Suppose you’d vote Vanilla Ice for Hip Hop…
Was surprised at how many people went for Hawtin. Especially considering the embarrassment he’s become. Wouldn’t quite call him the Vanilla Ice of the genre though
