Sort of crazy how this reached peak popular culture/word of mouth exposure just as they decided to end it, wasn’t it?

Feel like they could’ve really cashed in if they’d done a couple more seasons.

Started watching this last night. Does it get better after season 1 like most American programs? It’s fine so far just struggling to see how it’s so well thought of.

Yes, it definitely gets better - characters become more rounded and the irritating ones become more bearable!

Honestly I’d probably read the synopsis and skip to episode six of the first season. That’s generally considered the point where it gets better.

Literally everyone I’ve told about this show felt like they had to power through the first season. It takes a while for it to warm up.

Been watching this over holiday.

Up to almost end of season 2 and it’s so good.

“Alexis there are parts of this paper that sounds like they were written by someone else.”

“Oh. Thank you!”

Part way through Season 3 and I have to admit once Patrick turns up it gets a million times better.

I started it ages ago then gave up then have started again cos of all the hype and I do like it

BUT

It’s a bit tooooo nicey nicey. There I said it. Sitcoms are better when the characters are unhappy with their lives

I know what you mean. But I’d watched the entire of BoJack Horseman followed by The Thick Of It, so it was a nice relief

Finished. It was fine I don’t quite understand why it got so much love reminded me most of Parks & Rec. Moira was probably the best character.

But, it was something nice to watch for a change and at the moment something nice to watch was needed. Going watching Peep Show now though.

Nah, we need more nice tv, far less of it than when I was younger it feels. I dont want to watch TV to see bad experiences. Schitts Creek and Ghosts have been absolute joys :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I didn’t really get this until I ate some gummies halfway through season 3 and it clicked (also I think it just got a lot better around then). Just silly, lovely characters, recurring jokes, ended up doing the last season in a day I think.

Finished this last night and thought it was great. David and Patrick’s relationship did a lot of the heavy lifting though. One of my all time favourite couples.

May be worth having a spoiler warning on the whole thread here?

Currently watching it and finding it funny. mid way through s2. The mom is hilarious and i like David but so far i’d go as far as saying, its ok, funny in places.

Yeah it was good comfort viewing, I blitzed through it in lockdown 1. Can’t imagine I would have bothered if it wasn’t for the lockdown though.

I’ll add one
