What a beautiful voice.

the vocal is exactly like one of those shreds videos haha

I actually feel really bad about this now. It’s taken…19 years, but I finally feel bad about it.

Also annoyed it’s the only video that’s lasted from the whole thing, I think we actually sounded quite good in our set.

So many people talking through your set man. London gig crowd surely?

Nice lights. Had to turn it off when the lad started singing though. Properly hurt my ears.

when the video starts your guitar playing is bang on, and it’s a pretty hard part even if you weren’t playing it too fast

makes the vocal all the worse

London/Burton upon Trent.

great guitar playing :+1:

Out of interest after talking about this with a school friend recently- I made it so you can choose multiple options if you went to several schools.

  • I went to a mixed school and girls often played guitar and/or drums in school shows
  • I went to a mixed school and girls rarely or never played guitar and/or drums in school shows
  • I went to a girls school and girls often played guitar and/or drums in school shows
  • I went to a girls school and girls rarely or never played guitar and/or drums in school shows
  • Not applicable- I went to an all boys school or was homeschooled etc

no girls played guitar/drums/bass in any of the bands at school as far as I’m aware

best drummer in 6th form (which was huge) was a girl, she was really fucking good

I got confused and selected all the options. I wish I’d gone to an all girls school, I might have had a chance at getting a girlfriend then :grinning:

for some inexplicable reason I was cast as joseph in the school nativity play, I didn’t want to do it so fretted over it every night, but for some reason I couldn’t tell anyone, went right down to the wire and then finally bottled it and was recast as a camel. think this was a formative life experience. also played a sad clown in middle school, a role I have played ever since

I went to an all girls school from 11-16. Playing the guitar was a popular hobby, and we had music tech classes but somehow that never transferred to school talent shows. There were boys in the sixth form, and they would do band things in the shows. (Often stuff like tedious Oasis covers)

Sixth form at the mixed school, the boys were aggressively gatekeepy about instruments, and made it very clear you were there to watch and admire them. The music teacher would put together groups and do showcase things of 60s and 70s songs, but the girls only ever sung or played keyboard/piano.

I think you can go back and change your vote

Don’t think my school did productions with guitars, drums etc. Was all orchestral stuff iirc.

imagine how much better the general standard could be if it wasn’t like this.

I meant things like the talent show you posted videos of

Different Steve I think. My school didn’t really go in for talent shows, battles of the bands etc. Probably for the best in retrospect.

So many ridiculous fragile egos, which sadly some of them never grow out of.

I remember when I was 17 I got a Jagmaster with my birthday/xmas money (which I still have and is a very nice guitar). A very generous gift for a 17 year old to get. I was talking about it in the pub with a friend, and some slightly older guy I didn’t even know barged into the conversation and basically shamed me that I hadn’t bought a vintage Jaguar from the 60s which would have cost about a grand at the time. Anything to feel important against a 17 year old girl eh.

So it is. I suggest you time travel and made sure your parents picked a less popular name.
