Good thread.

Finding it hard to decide between:

  • Jam or cream on first - probably best to put on the thickest substance first. Cornish and Devonian folk argue about this don’t they?
  • Cheese scone v plain scone - a plain scone, fresh from the oven, is a thing of beauty, but we’ve been getting through quite a lot of cheese scones during lockdown and they’re becoming a firm favourite in the CCB household.

Recommend cafes that bake excellent and delicious scones.

I’ll start it off with Strickland & Holt in Yarm. The scones are huge and taste wholesome.

My nana tried to get the recipe from them for years

Would any of you monsters put the butter on your toast after the jam? Of course you wouldn’t…

What’s that got to do with anything

Cream is not a rigid substance

Trying to spread jam on it is a fool’s errand

Honestly don’t get how this is a debate
