Had a songle hot cross bun for breakfast, tasty but not nearly adequate. Might start on the mothers day cheesecake brownies.

Looking forward to when mothers day involves getting cooked for and given a rest, rather than being bitten by a moody, teething toddler and having a hassle trying to get him out of his bath and dressed.

Having a bit of trouble with autistic burnout from having done far too much in the last week, really wish I could go into standby mode, just sit in the dark and quiet for a while to reset.

Well quite. Plus the savings on water & electricity…
I mean, I just did an entire weeks wash for a family of four - washed and dried - in just 1.5 hours with no noise or mess in the flat. It’s great.

Not everyone agrees though, the block next to ours decided to convert their laundry room (almost exactly the same as ours) into four flats instead so :man_shrugging:t2:

But it’s def one of those things I never even much thought about until I moved to Sweden, just took it for granted that everyone has a washing machine at home or else goes to a launderette. Massive drain on the environment not to have these kind of things socialised

Taking mum out for dinner later.

I might go to gym first, but I’m not feeling great.

Is that near Banbury?

Can’t even sympathy like that Keith

That’s excellent. But I have to ask how is it so clean and nice? I hate to say it but I think a lot of communal areas like that in the UK would end up getting trashed. Maybe I’m just being cynical though.

Yeah there’s no way my block of flats could maintain that.

Yeah, I’d fucking love access to something like that!

Plus it’d be a great space to get to know your neighbours if you’re that sort of chap.

Thoughts with whose mums are no longer with us. I imagine days like today can prove quite difficult. Take care of yourselves.

Amusing the bairn while the TV has a well earned nap.

Also playing around with my new phone. It is shallow as fuck to be so into material objects but this thing is brilliant - loved my last phone but this one has already won me over.

Old firm later. I know the dishivemind is generally more sympathetic to Celtic but it’d be be reet nice for us rangers fans who are often embarrassed by our support and are not massive orange bastards to get a wee win. It’d make the last few weeks of the season potentially slightly more interesting.

Extremely grouchy today coz my dickhead neighbour kept me up til 6am. Gonna drink about 5 coffees and eat some eggs.

well, it’s not like there aren’t teenage vandals in Sweden, there’s a bunch on our estate who like to do a bus stop football challenge …which involves seeing who can kick the ball hard enough from the supermarket car park to smash the window on the bus stop outside the supermarket but the local council figured it out eventually and installed supershatterproof plexiglass : )

Then of course there’s plenty of graffiti around and some regular firework throwers but it’s all very low level

I guess the answer is down to people who rely on communal resources being very reluctant to smash up things that they need or enjoy - we have a floodlit AstroTurf football pitch that never has even the hint of damage or graffiti. Hardly even any litter…which I think speaks volumes

That plus the fact that the laundry room system ameliorates any kind of abuse - there is one magnetic key per apartment that gives residents access to the laundry/lounge/workshop area and you book 2 hour slots via the net or over your phone.

The people who use it keep it tidy and there is also a cleaner once a week.

It works perfectly

Morning everyone. Yesterday we had our really important Area Championships, and we came second.

Which means we won a cheque, won a cup, won entry into the National Finals and won promotion to the Championship Section.

It was a good day.
