Quite enjoyed the album tbh. Tom’s voice still sounds amazing and the production gives plenty of space to let those pipes shine.

Yeah, really great album. Hope he keeps doing this sort of thing, a lot of older artists seem to hit a groove at some point in the 70s/80s and just want to try loads of new things out. Like they just find a new groove all of a sudden.

Can actually see it doing well in lots of record shop end of year lists if he’s doing the rounds over the summer as well.

I’m a bit late but I’ve got well into the album, yeah. Think it could stand to lose a couple of tracks maybe but it’s got such a lovely melancholia about it.

Also I think if you listen to the original Talking Reality Television Blues that @lastdino posted you have to hand it to this version. That original is just a classic country song that feels well into heavy-handed satire, yet the instrumentation on this Tom Jones take and his delivery somehow dulls that into a much more relaxed sense.
