[sighs] Bundobust is good and fun. (It’s also a place I’ve been to far too many times, hence the sigh)
Sounds like they’re changing the menu quite significantly in a few weeks
Not curry mile or Chinatown but Indian tiffin room near Home is good.
Curry mile is largely absent of curries now… Mughli Charcoal Pit is still there though, certainly used to be OK but I haven’t been in a while. I love Bundobust too but it’s not so much classic curry house - but great veggie stuff. I’ve got friends that love Indian Tiffin Room but I found it a bit on the greasy side. Can’t beat This n’ That for a quick rice + 3 if you’re after speedy and cheap.
Equally if you want Chinese, the basement floor part of One+ Chinese restaurant next door to YES is decent and good value (and I also love the hotpot on the belt on the ground floor too)
Still excellent whenever we’ve been. Lamp chops, leopard roll, okra fries, butter chicken, St Peter’s naan. In my belly. Not cheap, though.
omg I miss it SO MUUUCH ![]()
bit further out but sanskruti is good
Sanskruti is so banging. Few pints of cask in Ladywell Social Club after. Life is so nice.
We ended up going here and it worked very well. I don’t know if it’s because we had kids with us, or my Canadian accent, but the guy working there was super nice to us, giving us free snacks and wanting a chat about his cousin in Toronto.
For Chinatown we ended up at Noodle Alley (Szechuan) which was really good and the portions were so massive we ate the leftovers for lunch the next day.
Anyone into burgers should try my mate’s monthly pop up just off Blackfriars (third thurs of the month from 5pm) I might go this Thursday if funds allow. He is extremely dis adjacent and does a banging weezer tribute act though presumably not at his pop up.
Not been to this place its based at yet but looks decent
