Seems Americans don't pronounce Blink-182 correctly

They say ‘Blink One Eighty-Two’, apparently.

It’s not right.

:left_speech_bubble: Mark and Matt cleared up how to say their band’s name, finally. Apparently it is blink-one-eighty-two but Mark said it’s fine to say one-eight-two, so long as you never use blink-one-hundred-and-eighty-two, which “just sounds wrong.” - Mark and Matt via the BBC Jun 8, 2016

Do you think Tom is still angry or do you think he’s happier talking to aliens now?

I noticed this when I went to watch them as a young man, really embarrassing for a band to say its own name incorrectly.

I like to say one eighty two. the y adds an element of cute that would otherwise be dearly missing.

Everyone I know called them blink one eighty two.

Didn’t bother me much as I always thought they were a bit rubbish

The only person I know who likes them just refers to them as blink. Perhaps to navigate this issue

I never knew there was a controversy.

Great band though!

Nice to see the side project of Matt from alkaline trio get some recognition

This thread has taught me that they’re still active and Tom is gone, replaced with some chump named Matt. Seems strange to me because I’d assume their target audience is people my age who want the nostalgia, but I’ve never heard any of my peers mention them. I’m going to be really freaked out if it turns out kids in 2018 listen to Blink One Eight Two.

I was never a fan, but ‘Blink one eighty two’ was what most people who were into them called them, because pretty much every interview with the band from around 20 years ago asked them the question.
