this is unforgivable imo

No curly brackets?

You sir are a monster of the highest order!

Saturday I was in the big Tesco and someone had left their card in the card machine. Didn’t notice until I went to pay and… er… wha?!

there is the big morrissons near work, i might buy something for 4.70 and see what the self-service machine does with a 5er. i have a feeling good old GH is about to be mighty vindicated.

The buses in Edinburgh are exact change only and when I first moved there I got really good at manipulating self checkouts to give me valuable 10p and 20p pieces to use for fares.

Then eventually I moved and needed to use the buses enough to justify getting a pass, so I did. But I had about £25 in change by that point, which I went and spent on a food shop. So I was just there for ages, putting small change in the machine. The people behind me didn’t look impressed.

you shouldn’t have to tho. you shouldn’t have to.

i assume it knows what coins it has and this has a bearing on what ones it gives out

probably also knows the coins its most likely to run out of so will hold on to those for longer etc

Haha! I always use them but on the phone and was waiting for a train.

A better second line would be

coins.dispense(ChangeMode.Optimal)

As well as it is closer to the truth…but i am getting into deep geek territory now.

Now that is careless.

Actually twice already this year I’ve found debit cards on the street and have had to hand them into a branch. As a nation we are becoming careless, clearly.

Hey @ghosthalo, I disagree with the entire premise of your post and I think that you should only post boomer memes from now on

Is it uk wide that they kow always ask if you want a receipt?

The amount of times I’ve had to say No to the lzy fucker before me when they’ve walked away on that screen is mind blowing. I don’t remember this when I lived in Cumbria

so Big Checkout have gotten to you too, old friend

I assumed it’s just cos people use them to get rid of their small change, so that’s what it’s full of.

Really anyone who has a contactless card and doesn’t use it at the self serve needs a stern telling off. I’m including you in that, halo. Consider yourself told off.

Last time I was at a motorway toll booth it gave me €2 in 5¢ pieces. I still blocked the queue for 5 minutes extracting all the coins from the virtually impossible to reach dispenser.

i don’t have a contactless card :pensive:

Ok. Enjoy your coppers.

I had an anecdote about this but it was so dull that I deleted it.

You’re welcome.

Tell me about it m9 - just look at all these adult babies who can’t even hold onto a phone properly :scream:
