i did get one at the time, hopefully will be able to find it. they asked me to confirm the address i sent it to and i haven’t heard back so reckon they might have given me the wrong one.

I think my “making an offer on something” and then not buying is coming back with bad gumtree karma/juju.
Thing is, my approach wastes basically no time, as people just accept offers from others. Been dealing with some proper fucknuts who have done the following

  1. Agree to buy something for them, organise delivery and time and then they say “oh, someone has offered to collect and coming tomorrow, sorry”

  2. offering to buy something off someone and them saying “Oh, I put the price in wrong, it’s double that”

  3. Listing the items you want from someone and them replying in the weirdest, most convoluted way,listing each item in separate messages, only to eventually say “oh, sorry, forgot, these ones aren’t actually available”

I had this same problem and ended up giving them a refund. Three months - yes, THREE MONTHS - later the dingus turned out to have some morals. He messaged me, “The record has finally turned up! I’m going to pay you again.”

The stuff that’s similar is selling on there for £10 minimum and up to £25 at the most.

the good thing about Depop is you can insist on people contacting you before they buy anything, that means you can agree a price, invoice them outwith Depop, they pay you via friends & family on paypal and you pay no fees

I can’t see how you register, though? It says ‘log in’. But where do you go to register for the first time? I’m going to have to search around to figure out what to do. (This sort of thing on websites should be in the Irks thread.)

You have to download the app first. Which I can’t do until I get a new phone with a more recent OS…
