I, being the skeptic I am plus the fact that this is coming from Cummings via Gove, am thinking that redacted 15 is a dead cat

I don’t think Gove is good at much, but I do think he is one of the few ministers in that cabinet capable of running a department semi-competently.

Mind you
Common sense dictates that even if this is an old version, you just stick a newer date on it to give the EU the impression we have done a bit of work on no deal so they think we’re not bluffing and panic into giving us a deal. Even though the plan clearly is to no deal ourselves into oblivion.

TL;DR, you’re quite right @xylo. TouchĂ©

Item 15 is about petrol shortages caused by the government’s plan to set a 0% import duty ruining the industy’s mitigations and likely causing 2 refinery closures and 2000 job losses.

why would/did they redact that then?

Aspirational politics, mate.

Because it explicitly calls out government policy as being the cause of the outcome and preventing the mitigations put in place by industry from working.

I see, whereas the rest is just Force Majeure I suppose?

Or I guess, the fault of the will of the people

And because of this bit:

This is not correct.

A hedge fund manager located in the UK must be authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under the UK’s rules implementing the EU’s AIFM Directive.

It’s all okay guys. Without even needing a prompt of any sort, a man working in the Bridgend outlet of Halford’s told me all this was scaremongering when I was helping my mother buy a sat nav. So I reckon Brexit will be fine.
Round the corner from the Ford factory it was, which I assume is also doing well.

If the fund is marketed to UK-based customers it doesn’t matter where it is domiciled, the fund will have to be regulated by the FCA in order to operate legally.

I don’t think the politics thread is the place to go into detailed discussions about hedge fund regulations. Claims of “thread got boring” would be very fair, obviously.

redacting point 15 means people will talk about point 15 - which is petrol shortages, right?

petrol shortages are less scary than medical shortages so maybe they redacted it as a distraction

how many dimensions is the chess in now?

I don’t. There are a only handful of subjects I can contribute to.
